A figurine of Europe and America made by Fuerstenberg in about 1760. A very well executed figurine of a great topic. The piece shows Europe (looks like a Spaniard with that helmet) and America (or a native American) riding an alligator. The figure is 6.75 inches tall, 4.5 inches wide and 4 inches deep. It is not marked with the blue F mark but is has the incised marks of AB and the number 150.
The piece is in good condition but there has been a superb restoration to the right arm of Europe. You can't tell at all unless you look at it from underneath. The tip of the tail of the alligator is chipped. 18th century German Germany antique.
