An unusual piece made by Nymphenburg in the late 18th century. I think it was a stand for pots de creme but it could be used as a cake stand as well or a serving plate. The piece is hand painted with two large floral arrangements as well as two single flowers. The top has a flat round shape to it with a wife foot to the underside with a central support. Very thickly potted and very heavy and sturdy which is why it has survived in such great condition with just a minor touch of wear. What makes this piece a bit more interesting is an unusual additional mark to the underside of a chamois or Gemse running in red as shown plus the usual impressed shield mark, number 6 impressed and four dots. Not sure what the additional mark is for but probably for some sort of high society member or royalty. Never seen that on a Nymphenburg piece! The platter is 1.375 inches tall and 12 inches in diameter. If you like my goodies have a look at my other auctions for a lot more top maker pieces like KPM , Frankenthal and so on.
